Description: Crews will use the closure to prepare for an upcoming traffic switch of the eastbound off-ramp to Montlake Blvd. This work is part of the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project. Learn more about this traffic shift on our latest blog post.

Traffic: Eastbound SR 520 and all associated on- and off-ramps between I-5 and Montlake Blvd. in Seattle will close for construction beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday, May 29, until 5 a.m. Monday, June 1.

During this closure, crews will adjust the exit point to Montlake Blvd. and connect the bridge to a new, temporary off-ramp. Crews will also connect the temporary off-ramp to Montlake Blvd. and then prepare to remove the existing off-ramp to make space for future construction.

Westbound SR 520 remains open across Lake Washington to I-5. Eastbound SR 520 remains open across Lake Washington. It is only the section of eastbound SR 520 between I-5 and Montlake Blvd. that will close.

Please note: The Montlake Blvd. on-ramp to eastbound SR 520 will also close during this weekend. Only HOV 3+ and transit are allowed to use the direct access ramp on Montlake to enter eastbound SR 520. All other travelers must use alternate routes.

Eastbound SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake Blvd. closed nightly May 27-28

Description: Crews will use these closures to prepare for an upcoming traffic shift of the off-ramp scheduled for later this spring. This work is part of the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project.

Traffic: The eastbound SR 520 off-ramp to Montlake Blvd. in Seattle will close nightly for construction beginning at 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. on the nights of Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28.

All traffic from I-5 entering eastbound SR 520 during these hours will pay the SR 520 Bridge Toll with this ramp closed. Those who do not want to pay the toll or who need to access Montlake Blvd. from I-5 must take alternate routes.

Eastbound SR 520 remains open across Lake Washington.

East Roanoke Street closed between Boylston Avenue East and Harvard Avenue East May 16

Description: Crews will use this closure to prepare the area for pile installation related to the future expansion of the Roanoke bridge crossing. This work is part of the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge and Roanoke Lid Project.

Traffic: Both directions of East Roanoke Street between Boylston Avenue East and Harvard Avenue East will close for construction beginning at 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 16. Signed detours will be in place. Travelers are advised to please follow the detours and respect the posted signage around the neighborhood.

Traffic: Eastbound SR 520 and all associated on- and off-ramps between I-5 and Montlake Blvd. will close for construction beginning at 11 p.m. on Friday, May 8, until 5 a.m. Monday, May 11. In addition, the Montlake Blvd. on-ramp to eastbound SR 520 will also close.

What to expect:

During this closure, crews will finalize a traffic shift of the northbound I-5 ramp to eastbound SR 520. When eastbound SR 520 reopens on May 11, northbound I-5 traffic will use a new temporary ramp to access eastbound SR 520. Please pay attention to the new signage and allow for time to adjust to the new setup.

Southbound I-5 and westbound SR 520 are not affected by this work.

SR 520 remains open in both directions across Lake Washington. It is only the section of eastbound SR 520 between I-5 and Montlake Blvd. that will close.

Traffic: Boyer Avenue East between East Roanoke Street and Everett Avenue East will reduce to a single lane for both directions from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday, Feb. 18 through at least Thursday, June 18

Please note there are 24-hour and daytime parking restrictions through the work area as well as sidewalk closures with detours during active work hours. Flaggers will be on-site to guide drivers and pedestrians through the work area. Travelers should plan for potential delays and neighbors should expect to hear noise from increased truck traffic and construction equipment in the area.
