Activity details:

High-impact construction

Impact type:

DaytimeNoiseVibration

Crews are using vibratory and impact piledriving equipment to install piles on land and in water in several locations in Portage Bay. We update this page weekly with information about planned piledriving to help neighbors know what to expect.

For the schedule below, west end refers to locations near Boyer Avenue East, while east end refers to locations near the Montlake interchange. Work at either end may occur on the north or south side of the existing SR 520 bridge. Piledriving may occur at both ends at the same time, using different equipment.

Please note that construction schedules can – and often do – change as work progresses. Bookmark this page and check back regularly for the latest updates.

Nearby neighbors will experience noise and vibration during piledriving. While neighbors are always welcome to call us, we want to reiterate that this kind of noise and vibration will be a regular part of construction activity in the project area over the next four to five years until the project is complete.
