Description: Crews will use the 5-year Bill Dawson Trail closure to build a haul route, in the footprint of the trail, for the North work trestle as part of the SR 520 Portage Bay Bridge & Roanoke Lid Project.
Traffic: Crews will close the Bill Dawson Trail - from the east end of the new pedestrian tunnel under Montlake Boulevard to the Montlake Playfield - for five years beginning as early as Monday, May 12, 2025 until 2030. During the closure, crews will build a haul road over the footprint of the trail so construction crews and their equipment can safely access the work trestle to build the new bridges. A detour for those biking, walking or rolling is shown above. Users of the trail are encouraged to visit the Portage Bay section of this website (under the "Construction Project" tab) and click on the "Bill Dawson Trail FAQ" at the bottom of the page or via www.bit.ly/BDTClosureFAQ for more detailed information on the closure.
